The Network and Information Security Directive 2 (NIS2) is the EU’s enhanced legislation for cybersecurity, requiring essential and important entities – such as banks and their technology providers – to implement robust risk management, incident response, and governance measures. In Finland, the obligations under the NIS2 Directive came into effect on 8 April 2025.
